The immediate appeal here is two very charismatic artists, both still young yet thoroughly seasoned, collaborating on appealing repertoire. Bostridge's Schubert glistens, his phrasing is plastic and unforced and the details of diction and dynamics are effortlessly subsumed into a simple and direct interpretation. Andsnes is an attentive and inventive accompanist, responsive not retiring.
