"Hill's technical assurance and musicianly phrasing are much to be admired, and his textures are always clean. Both he and Behringer employ copies of a late seventeenth-century Italian instrument, on the grounds that Bach's harpsichord writing (as distinct from that for organ) was mainly influenced by Frescobaldi."
