Clifford Curzon was an English pianist who studied at the Royal Academy of Music, winning the Macfarren Gold medal in 1924, at the age of 17. He made his debut at a prom in 1923 performing a Bach triple concerto under Henry Wood and made subsequently toured Europe and the United States. Although his recorded legacy his considerable, Curzon was well known for his dislike of his own recordings.
