Varèse was one of the most violent, provocative and imaginative composers of this century. Although he was not prolific, his works have deeply influenced many other composers and musicians. Riccardo Chailly, who considers Varèse one of the most interesting yet under-performed composers, here presents astonishing performances of Varèse's entire output, including two pieces never published before: Tuning Up and Dances for Burgess.
