What is downloading?

Downloading is when you transfer a file or program from a website to your own computer.

Is it legal?

Downloading music is perfectly legal as long as all the copyright holders of that particular piece of music have given their permission. Passionato has direct relationships with the major and independent labels and all music purchased through Passionato directly compensates the artist for their work. Once you are a registered member of Passionato (registration is free), you are able to download music legally.

What do I need to get started?

In order to get the most from your downloads, we recommend installing the Passionato Player. The Passionato Player is a software download that is free to install and is used to manage and play your Classical music collection, allowing you to organise and search for music, maintain and enhance the data of each track and convert your CDs to a format that is suitable for storing in your Passionato collection.

The Passionato Player has been designed from the ground-up, purely to accommodate the unique features of Classical recordings, allowing easy search by category, period, work and album. The Player offers you a window into the world’s largest collection of high-quality DRM-free Classical downloads, available in a user friendly format.

To be able to access the Passionato Player effectively you will need the minimum hardware configuration of a Pentium-IV 1.0 GHz or above processor, 256MB of RAM memory and 50GB or more of hard disk drive storage space. On a Windows PC, you should be able to check this by launching the ‘Control Panel’ via the ‘Start’ menu and then clicking on ‘System’. For all other operating systems, please refer to your computer’s manual.

Step by step guide to downloading music:

Step 1 - REGISTER

Please ensure that you have checked the box to confirm you agree to Passionato's Terms & Conditions, and click on Register.

Once your registration is complete, click on Download The Free Passionato Player

Step 2 - FIND YOUR MUSIC

Find the music that you want to download. You can do this in several ways by using the different search functions or by simply browsing.

Once you have selected the music you want to download, you can either click on ‘full info’ to review detailed recording information and preview a 60 second sample, or you can simply select the ‘buy’ option.

Once you have selected the ‘buy’ option on the music you want to purchase this will now appear in your basket. From here you can then click on ‘Proceed To Check Out’ or ‘Pay with PayPal’ to make payment.

Step 3 - PAY

Once you have selected your payment method, you will be asked to provide your card details, Passionato accepts all major credit and debit cards, please complete the requested fields and click the ‘Complete Purchase’ button. This process may take some time, so please be patient. Once your payment is authorised you will be taken to your download area where you can get your music.
