Berlin Classics is the classical wing of Edel AG, a major German media organization based in Hamburg. Its contributors feature many  of the finest artists in Europe including Lynn Dawson, Peter Schreier, Christoph Genz and Kurt Masur. Formed shortly after the collapse of East Germany Berlin Classics features recordings previously available only on East German labels as well as continuing a programme of inventive new releases. Its contribution to German (and European) music making has therefore proved invaluable.
