Cantate

Cantate is a German label and prides itself in recording rarely performed repertoire. Cantate (and its associated label Musicaphon) have been around since the late 1950s. During the 1960s and 70s they released a series of highly regarded albums of baroque music which included performances by Helmuth Rilling. In 1994 Cantate and Musicaphon changed owners and have subsequently restructured to focus on different areas of the repertoire. In Cantate's case this has meant sacred music.
