Chandos

Chandos is one of the leading independent labels in the classical music industry. Based in the UK, it was founded in by Brian Couzens. Chandos covers the core repertoire but is best known for its forays into the work of neglected composers and also the British repertoire of which it has one of the largest catalogue of recordings of any equivalent label. Other important areas of Chandos's catalogue are the period performance sub-label, Chandos Chaconne, Chandos Movies featuring the best of British film music as well as their series of brass band recordings.

Chandos features, amongst its extensive roster of artists, performances b ylate British conductors Richard Hickox and Vernon Handley who between them made many important recordings of British music for the label. The Chandos sound quality is a byword for excellence in the classical recording industry and has won numerous awards.
